Weekly Troop Update - 4/22/19

Post date: Apr 23, 2019 10:36:28 AM

Announcements:

Next Meeting is a Troop Meeting, Tuesday, April 23 @ Christ Church Cranbrook. The boys will focus on advancement. Will be crosschecking books to scoutbook and filling out the advancement poster. The Spring COH will be held at the end of May so we have a few weeks to get everyone to their nearest rank and merit badge.

Church Closing time: The Church closes at 9 PM. Historically we have finished our meetings by 8 or 8:30. We have had a few instances where we get very close to 9 or past that time and the Church has kindly asked us to avoid those instances in the future. Please assist with this request.

Upcoming Calendar Events - Please check our Website for the calendar. http://www.t1005.org/

Summer Camp - Invoices for summer camp have been sent out. Final camp payments are due.

Summer High Adventure: Whitewater Kayaking School

Information has been sent out. Please send an email to Eric Kravchenko if you are interested in going. Emails indicating no interest are also appreciated as this helps us plan. We need to get a final count for pricing purposes. The final deadline for response will be in early May. If you have any questions please let me know.

Information about the school is here https://www.mkc.ca/ This should be a really cool trip. Siblings that are not in scouting are welcome. Cost will be from $900 to $1100 - this is for a 5 day trip so a very good value. The goal of the 5 day course is to learn to Eskimo roll, Read a whitewater rapid, learn paddling safety, technique and rescue. We will get to run rapids.
