Next Meeting, Tuesday, November 28

Tomorrow is our next regular meeting, starting promptly at 7pm.

We will have potential new crossover scouts from Pack 1014 in attendance. It is important that all Scouts be there and make them feel involved and welcome.

We are representing the Troop, the Church, and the Boy Scouts! Scouts should also be on their best behavior wearing their full scout uniform.

In preparation, Scouts can practice working on the knots that were in the handout knot link received last week. The preparation is to help the crossovers on their knots.

Last call for sales. All order forms are due Tuesday for the last delivery on Sunday, December 3^rd.

This has traditionally been our only fundraiser. Last time I checked we were a little behind pace from last year. We need a big final push.

Climbing Outing – Planet Rock – REGISTRATION DUE

Our next outing will be the Climbing Merit Badge Outing! This is a short one inside a nice warm building….perfect for December.

Planning Ahead….

As we come to the end of the year, as a Troop we are looking ahead to 2018. We have a lot of big events in the 2^nd half of the school year. Specific details will be forthcoming.. but…given the nature of the activities we have to plan ahead. Some of the activities require commitments well in advance of the outing. Please pay attention to registration deadlines as event details are announced. For visibility, here are the upcoming activities (in order of registration requirements):

Summer, 2019. High Adventure. Philmont, World Jamboree, both?, others? Yeah, we will be taking deposits and making commitments for this adventure in the next month. More info coming soon.

Jan 12 to 15, Caving in Indiana. This is an awesome event. We did a similar version a couple of years ago and scouts loved it. This year we get to sleep in the Marengo Cave which will be rustic camping, not like the bunks a couple of years ago. This is over MLK weekend to give us extra time, it is a LONG drive. Also, with the planning involved and the reservation confirmations, we need to confirm our numbers early (before the end of year).

Jun 24 to 30, Summer Camp. Just like last year, we need to confirm our numbers by the end of January. You can make a deposit now via our payment site, click here.

Feb 16 to 18, Winter Outing. This is one we will need to finalize registration later in January. The reason… the main morning activity will be 2.5 hours on one of 4 luge tracks in the US (video). A very cool activity, but it sells out so we need to confirm our numbers really early

May 26 to 28, White Water Rafting. Another perennial favorite. To be able to do Caving and White Water Rafting the same year is a pretty special program year. Again, given the reservations, and planning involved early registration is required.
